As of Tuesday 4 October sport masseuse Loes is back. If you like to take good care of your body and muscles a good massage every now and then is a must.

You can book your timeslot via Toplogger. Loes will send you a “tikkie” direct after the massage, so bring along your mobile as well as a big towel. Loes masters many massage techniques, should you have a specific need you can consult her.

Update DBIYO and new in store: Unparallel climbing shoes

With stripping the main wall the white boulders for the youngest climbers have become unavailable. If you want to visit us with small kids (4-6yo) we strongly advise to plan this on or after 29 September, as all boulders will be back by then.

As of Wednesday (21 Sept.) about 10 extra boulders will be taken out as well to make space for the qualification boulders. Setting of these qualification boulders is scheduled for Thursday and Friday. The gym will be closed on Friday for the finetuning and testing of all qualification boulders as well as the final preps. Most competition boulders will be taken out on Sunday evening and/or Monday morning, after which we’ll start resetting the missing circuit boulders. You only have one chance to give those competition boulders a try and that’s Saturday afternoon!

Right after the qualifications for the DBIYO (Sa 24 Sept. 10-13.30h) you can join the db9 XL (14-17.30h). There’s no need in signing up on beforehand, just pop along and enjoy this competition. You fill out your own scorecard and when you’re finished you exchange your scorecard for a lottery ticket. While our team processes all scorecards you can sit and relax with a beer. If you’re lucky your lottery ticket might be worth a very nice price in the raffle!
Do you want to come over as a spectator? Nice! Spectators are very welcome during the weekend.

If you don’t like all this fuss and simply want to boulder, we have a nice alternative for you. Bolder Neoliet in Rotterdam offers you a bouldersession for just € upon showing your subscription card or 10x card during the weekend (Fr-Su).

During the DBIYO there’s a CAC (Climbers against Cancer) clothes sale as well as a sale of second hand climbing gear (of which CAC will benefit 100%). Furthermore there’s a sale of Five Ten shoes that have been taken out of the production line (such as Anasazi). Need more reasons to visit us?

As of Monday 19 September our shop sells another climbing shoe brand: Unparallel.
The models Engage (€109,90), Up-Rise (€149,90) and Flagship (€169,90) are in stock. If you’re not yet familiar with this brand, please visit their website. Our team will help you finding the best shoe for your feet and your climbing level.

September: party month!

We turn 10 in September and that’s reason to celebrate!

We’re organising the 3rd editon of the DBIYO (Delfts Bleau International Youth Open). This comp is open to all youngsters that love to attend boulder competitions and who’d like to challenge themselves with other youngsters around Europe. Category B (U16), A (U18), Juniors (U20) and Juniors+2 (U22) can join. Due to covid-19 there have hardly been any competitions in 2019 and 2020 and the Juniors of those years have missed out quite a lot. So, we added this category this year and might do so next year as well. At this moment in time there are youngsters registrated from Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, UK and the Netherlands.

Are you no longer B, A, Junior or Junior+2 and would you love to enjoy the 30 qualification boulders set by the setters team led by Jacky Godoffe? Have we got news for you: you can! Right after the qualifications we organise the db9 XL, that’s Saturday 24 September as of 14h until 17u. No registration needed, just make sure you’re there on time. It’s your only chance to try all these boulders as the setters team will take quite some out Saturday evening in order to set the boulders for the finals. You’ve got 1 chance, don’t miss it! All DBIYO boulders will be taken out the days after the finals and replaced by regular circuit boulders.

Due to the last preparations the gym will not be open Friday 23 September.
During the DBIYO only competitors are allowed to climb, no regular visitors, except for those attending the db9 XL on Saturday afternoon.

During the DBIYO weekend we have a sale on behalf of  Climbers Against Cancer (CAC). Not just CAC-clothing at reduced prices, but also a massive sale of 2nd hand climbing gear such as chalkbags, brushes, waterbottles etc. All benefits are for CAC!
We’ll also have a sale of Five Ten climbing shoes, specifically the models Five Ten no longer produces (such as Anasazi Pro).

Is that all? Nope, we have more in store so stay tuned!
Does the brand Unparallel ring a bell yet?

summer!

It has been a while since our last post!

All youth trainings are temporarily ended due to summer holidays. The Petit DB Summer camp is finished as well and we’ve had our last BSO-visit so the gym will be quiet for the next couple of weeks. Now it’s time for our (youth-) instructors to go outdoors for their climbing and we can therefore hosts groups or clinics very limited up and until Monday 29 August.

After the holidays we’ll start with the preparations of the DBIYO (Delfts Bleau International Youth Open) which we’ll host in the weekend of  24 & 25 September. Finally, after 2 years delay due to COVID-19 it’s time for a serious competition once more! It’s also our 10th anniversary, time to party!

Enjoy the summer!

To book or not to book via Toplogger, that’s the question ; )

You can walk in -during opening hours that is- whenever you like, even when you feel the urge of bouldering popping up last minute. Ain’t that sweet?

Groups (as of 5p) do still need to book a timeslot and an instructor by sending us an email stating date, timeslot and number of participants.
Should you need to consult fysio Jelle on Monday evening, you can book your timeslot via Toplogger. And same applies for Yoga on Saturday morning.

Google Live gives you a peak in the (less) busy hours, we do hope that helps those who’d like to avoid a crowd.

End of covid-19 measures and db9

Per Friday 25 February the 1.5m distance rule is no longer applicable. Feels a bit weird doesn’t it? We will keep using Toplogger as our booking system for all timeslots after 17h on weekdays and all timeslots in the week-ends. If you step in on a weekday before 17h you don’t need to book, otherwise you still do.

Quite some customers have stated they’re not looking forward towards seeiing the pre covid-19 crowds in the evening. We’ve taken this in consideration and have therefore decided to stick to the reservations for a bit longer. Timeslots are adjusted, you should be able to find yourself a spot and if you don’t, you know it’s too busy.

With the end of all restrictions it’s time to organise a competition again! Save the date: db9 on Friday night 25 March, with the usual kids edition on Saturday 26 March. We’re really looking forward to this!

Horeca re-opens

However, we do need to close the horeca at 22h (meaning: the terrace should be empty). You can order your drinks until 21.30h at the bar providing there is a free table. Restrictions for horeca are: 1.5m distance and seated only. We had to re-arrange the terrace again, so there are some seats less than you’re used to. But hey, there’s still plenty of room to enjoy that coffee/beer/pizza etc. Please surpress your urge to re-arrange the seating area to join your friends table, thank you!

All other restrictions still apply:
*as of 13yrs you wear a facemask upon entry until the moment you’re ready for bouldering. In the changingrooms, toilets and whilst visiting the bar you’ll be wearing a facemask too.
*as of 18yrs you show your CTB&ID upon entry
*you book a timeslot via Toplogger on beforehand

As the 1.5m distance is not yet lifted we stick to booking on beforehand. It has proven to help avoiding long queues at the check-in and check-out, and therefore helps keeping your distance.

Should you be concerned about the ventilation and/or aerosols watching the crowd in the evenings and week-ends: we have 2 ventilation systems one of which is a VFA-system (Virus Free Air). So no worries there!
