To book or not to book?

Booking on beforehand enables persons with health issues to choose the (guaranteed) most quiet moments. There’s no stress of having to boulder with lots of people around and acting upon the 1.5m rule is easy.

You hear it on the daily news that the number of covid-19 cases still rise. If a visitor of DB gets tested positive a few days after his/her visit to DB the GGD needs to conduct a spreading survey. By using Toplogger.nu we can easily get access to all mailaddresses of all visitors of that specific day/moment.

In the upcoming period you’ll find more timeslots of 2.5h and 3h in Toplogger. You might have noticed already but you can now book your timeslot for a free consult with the physio on Monday night via Toplogger as well.

What else changes? Well, showers remain closed. Changing rooms are open for those who can’t change clothes at work, as there’s only room for 3p in the changing rooms at the same time we kindly request you to change clothes at home.

Last week we reopened the campusboard. As of next week we also reopen the monkeybar (for persons of 18yrs and older). Washing your hands frequently also applies for the trainingsarea, same goes for not touching your face.

Enjoy the summer!

Evaluation timeslots COVID-19 regulations

Bouldering in the 1.5m society….it can be done and it works out fine! Partly because of the fact we’ve limited the maximum number of people in at the same time way under the official maximum things run quite smoothly. We’re very happy with that and it feels so good seeiing all of you again!

Based on your feedback, either in person or via social media, we now know that you appreciate booking via Toplogger. Good to know! We’ll continue using Toplogger as the booking tool. As the early timeslots in the afternoons are fully booked we don’t like taking the risk of having to turn you down. Therefore booking in the afternoons will remain mandatory for now.

Right now not everyone is able to continue bouldering for 2 hours. This is why the timeslots of 2h will be maintained. However, we’ve also added some longer timeslots, and you might have noticed there’s an extra 1.5h timeslot at 21h. Because quite some people leave before the time due opportunities rise for having a beer after your session. Please check at the bar if the terrace looks quite full, if it’s rather empty you can have a drink for sure.

Please continue changing into your climbing clothes before coming to the gym. For those who really don’t have that opportunity we re-open the changing rooms as of now. As there’s a max of 3p in the changing rooms you can see that availability is quite limited. Showers and the extra toilet in the changing rooms remain off limit.

Allthough things run smoothly you might experience another climber (unintentionally) disrespects the 1.5m towards you. Should this be so, please address this climber kindly. Everybody is so happy to be bouldering again, one intends to forget the shortest way to the next boulder could be the one passing another person too closely. We’re only human after all! Should the climber not respond to your remark, please notify the bar in order for us to act. Thank you.

So, what changes in the timeslots as of 20 July? The max. number persons in the gym will rise a little bit. Timeslots as of 20h will end at 22.30h and you can have a drink afterwards (bar closes at 23.30h).

Constant vigilance! We keep a close eye on developments as we want to ensure everybody feels comfortable and safe. Lifting regulations will not be done hastily. We’re interested in your opinon, so if you’re happy or unhappy with the way things are going: tell us!

Next timeslots in Toplogger will run until 1 August. The week before that we’ll evaluate again.

book your timeslot via Toplogger now!

As of now you can book your timeslot via Toplogger Each timeslot lasts 2h, you can book one timeslot a day and there’s always one day inbetween 2 timeslots. Drinking a refreshing beer afterwards is also included in this 2h slot. To ensure a smooth check-in we ask you to arrive 5 min before your booking and to check-out on the time due.

We start with a maximum of 60p in the gym in the same time. We do have more capacity but we’d like to try out how comfortable everyone is. Dropping by for a boulder session spontaneously isn’t an option for now, you really need to book a timeslot on beforehand.

All information about the temporary COVID-19 measurements are mentioned on our Toplogger page. We sure hope we’re back to normal asap but who can tell? Until then you’ll need to bring your own water bottle, chalkbag and brush. Changingrooms are closed, so come to the gym in your boulder clothes and just change your shoes. Shouldn’t this be an option because of wearing a suit obligations at work f.i., please contact us by Phone to discuss the options. We’ll open the changingroom for you.

The use of chalk is mandatory. Shouldn’t you happen to have your own chalkbag: we do have 5 rental bags and each one is rented out once a day. Buying your own chalkbag and chalk in our shop is also an option, same applies for a brush. Water bottles, chalkbags and brushed cannot be shared during COVID-19. You can still rent shoes, which will be desinfected after use.

The monkeybar and yogamats are unavailable. You could bring your own yogamat in order to do a proper stretch and/or cooling down.

All beverages are available, but not all food. Tosti’s, pizza’s and cake are not available for now.

We look forward seeiing you soon, despite the COVID-measurements. And it goes without saying you’ll cancel your booking if you have a cold, sneeze, cough etc. and/or if someone in your Household has these symptoms. We’d love to see you again safe and sound!

Re-OPENING PER 1 JULY!

Prime minister Rutte announced in the press conference of 24 June that this re-opening will require strict conditions. At this moment various parties, amongst which the RIVM and the OMT, are discussing these conditions captured in a protocol. The BKS (Branchevereniging Klimsport) takes part in this discussion. We have high hopes the final protocol will be available on Friday 26 June.

Why can’t you book your timeslot yet? Well, at this moment we don’t know how many people may enter the building, if it’s mandatory to book a timeslot on beforehand or just desirable, is the mandatory registration of name, address, telephonenumber to be done on beforehand or on the spot, are changing rooms to be open or closed (and if open…is showering allowed?)? A lot of questions. We expect it will be mandatory to book on beforehand.

As soon as we have the protocol, everyone with a subscription (monthly, quarterly, yearly) will get an email. Our sponsors will be invited to book the first spots in the opening week, then everyone with a subscription. Remaining spots will be made available for all others. We’ll communicate this via this site, FaceBook and Instagram.

We ask you to be patient just a tiny little bit longer. The BKS expect the protocol will be made available in the evening more likely than in the afternoon. Each and every gym will have to look into what it needs to re-open (f.i. entrance and exit should be different doors). We do our utmost, really!

fingers crossed: re-opening per 1 July?

We’ve had wonderful news! As all goes well we can re-open per 1 July!

These past weeks we’ve worked hard to get the gym as new as can be. All that hard work took our mind of things a bit as we had lots of reasons for worrying unfortunately. The government provides some support but hasn’t defined the exact definition yet, so it might be so that some of the support has to be paid back. It’s a small amount, not enough to cover the monthly costs let alone the costs for being closed down during 3 months.

But we have you! And some of you have been able to support us with either donations or not pausing the subscriptions. We’re very grateful for that support! The lovely, warm messages you’ve send us shine like the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Dutch Government will decide around 23 June whether or not bouldergyms, climbing gyms and all other indoor sport facilities can be allowed to re-open per 1 July. Each sport has conjured protocols and the RIVM is looking into all these protocols, asks for additional measurements or clarifications and compares protocols. You already know (and practice) what the RIVM doesn’t: when bouldering you always keep a distance of at least 2.5m on the wall and you don’t wander around on the mats whilst risking being closer to another climber than the obliged 1.5m.

Furthermore our gym is hugh, with high ceilings, and there’s always plenty of fresh air. Via three big fans in the roof air is transported out while via the big doors at the front and at the back a lot of fresh air gets in. Did you know that our air cleaning system is produced by VFA Solutions? VFA stands for Virus Free Air. This company provides hospitals with filter systems as well. Good to know right?

So, keep up the good job by respecting the 1.5m society and help us to re-open soon!

Repair of climbing shoes

Before the COVID-19 quite a lot of you handed in their shoes for repair. We’ve organised 2 pick-up moments but there are still a lot of uncollected shoes. Are yours amongst those?

The next pick-up moment is Wednesday 20 May, 17-18.30h. If you cannot make it yourself, text a friend (state brand and model) and we’re happy to hand your shoes over to that friend upon showing us that text.

Should you like to have your climbing shoes repaired, please contact Zapatos Climbing.

See you Wednesday!

Corona, where do we go from here?

We are a bit overwhelmed with all the replies we had on our mail of 25 March, and the replies still keep coming in. Giving us support has so many ways, from brief and firm to Hallmark style texts, from moral support to financial. Very special. It warms our hearts to learn how many of you care for Delfts Bleau. Thank you!
At this moment we haven’t replied to a great deal of the mails, we hope to get to this soon.

Meanwhile we do hope you’re still safe and sound, including your loved ones. Are you curious what we are up to these days?

If you follow us on social media (FaceBook and/or Instagram) you’ve seen the posts on the big spring clean up. The walls have been scrubbed and the (re-)setting has started. The greens, mints and reds are put back like they were. Why? Well, green was just about 2 weeks old, mint 1 week and red 2 days when we had to shut down. All other circuits will be newly set.

Furthermore we’re painting, reparing, renovating, innovating and cleaning. You’ll enter a new gym! And that’s how it feels for us as well. It all looks as fresh as it was over 7 years ago and we feel the same exitement to open up.

We still have our home delivery service. Should you still be thinking about doing some home training, we still have in stock:
* Theraband red, green, blue and black;
* Powerfingers (guiterplayers: this is something for you to check out as well!);
* de Il Domani (2 left);
* Beastmaker 2000 (experienced climbers)
The Beastmaker 1000 is sold out.

All climbing shoes that were handed in for repair before the shut down, have been repaired. About 70 pairs of shoes are waiting for the gym to open. As soon as we have a date we’ll send an email to the owners to make an appointment for picking them up.

As soon as the gym can be re-opened we’ll have to apply the 1.5m distance rule. You’re already used to keeping a distance of 2.5m on the walls, so you’re more or less experienced with this rule already. At this moment climbing and bouldering gyms are working united to set up a protocol that will enable us to open up whilst meeting all corona regulations. This might mean: limited number of climbers, booking an online timeslot on beforehand, contact free pin only, no shoe rental, washing your hands before and after climbing, bringing and using your own brush after each boulder you’ve done, no high-fives when you’ve sent your project. Perhaps the changing room cannot be opened, nor the showers. If so, you come to the gym in your sport clothes and just have to change shoes. Whatever the rules will be: we’ll keep you posted!

Pausing subscriptions and sponsorship

A lot is happening due to the Corona virus. On Dutch Government orders we had to close per Sunday 15 March up and until Monday 6 April 28 April.
This still feels a bit unreal to us, probably for you as well. No-one knows yet what the impact is going to be, but things will get tough for most of us.

Let’s just hope we all will just be effected by the measures and not by the virus itself. Stay safe!

We will put all subscriptions on hold until the moment we’re allowed to open the doors again.
Should you like to support our staff by not putting your subscription on hold, please send us a message. Meanwhile we’ll think of something to thank you for your kind and much appreciated support.
