Together with the Dutch Federation we are organizing the first edition of the Series, a new competition for less experienced climbers, with three different levels: Start (grade 3 to 5), Mid (5 to 6), Max (6 to 7). Each level has 6 problems, if you can top all 6 problems in 7 or less total attempts, you are promoted to the next level. You get 5 attempts per problem.

You do have to sign up at the competition system of the federation (https://was2.shiftf5.nl/competitions/4400) and you need an account to do so. If you are no member of the federation, you can just use 0 (zero) as your member number.

We’ll be publishing all special events around our anniversary asap.
A db9 on Friday evening, for adults and Youth U18&U20, with live dj’s. And as always we’ll have a db9 kids edition the morning after, Saturday 23 September for Yout U12, U14, and U20.

The db9 kids edition is not suitable for children without any competition experience. If you want to know for sure if your child is up to this, please check his/her result in De Series. For category MAX this comp is suitable, for MID a bit on the hard side but a good training anyways. For category START this comp really is too hard.

As always the comp boulders will be adjusted for the kids edition on Saturday morning and the adjustments will be made undone after the comp. The comp boulders will be removed on Sunday evening, most likely they will all be gone then so make sure you don’t miss them!

Our foam supplier stated earlier not to be able to deliver before the end of this year and then suddenly they offered delivery per 31 July 2023. We didn’t have to think about that and said yes, although this action comes with a lot of ad hoc planning.

While you all enjoy your holidays Team Delfts Bleau will remove the carpets/matting in order to remove all the old foam blocks on Monday 31 July. The old foam will be collected by a recycling company, good news for our foot print. On Tuesday the big puzzle with foam blocks will start and on Friday the matting expert will be here to reseal and secure all the matting. Quite a job to do in just 5 days!

For most of our subscription holders (year card and continuous subscription) there’s still the offer of free bouldering at Boulder Rotterdam.

We apologise for any inconvenience, especially for the short notice. Sometimes jigsaw pieces lock quicker than expected. So, one week of inconvenience and years of a safe and stable matting!

We’ve had previously a similar cooperation with Boulder, during the DBIYO for instance. As you all responded enthousiastically about that cooperation we have teamed up with Boulder again. In case you’ve not yet been to Boulder, this is your chance.

The offer is valid for both the year card holders as well as for those with the monthly subscription (the one with the monthly withdrawal). You’ll have to show your card at the bar at Boulder in order to get that free entrance. Unfortunately the offer is not applicable to 10 times card holders, 1 month nor 3 months subscription holders.

There’s a double award ceremony of both the winners of this competion as the overall season winners. A lot of counting and carefully checking scoreforms! We’ll do our utmost to have the ceremony before 13h.

The 14 competition boulders are available for everyone to climb as of 13.30h Saturday afternoon. Some of the boulders will be removed Sunday evening, others will stay a bit longer on the wall. Make sure you’ll give them a go!

Ascension day is business as usual, we’re open as of 12h. In the morning the yellow circuit will be taken out to be cleaned for resetting on Friday. Beginners and newbees be warned!
This week we have 2 fresh circuits as the green circuit has been reset as well.

Saturday 10 June we’ll be hosting the finals of the Youth Boulder Series. The gym will be exclusively open for spectators and competitors until 14h that day.

As you might have seen on the posters in the gym we’re looking for new staff for our vaccuum cleaning team per June/July.

You find all details on our vacancy site. There are 2 options: a summer job for June, July and August or a job for a longer period starting June/July incl summer.
We’re looking forward meeting you if you’re interested in either jobs.

With his hand in plaster Tinus cannot teach yoga. We wish him a swift recovery and will keep you posted on the restart of yoga classes on Saturday mornings.

Monday 10 April, Easter Monday, the gym opens at 9h already and closes at the regular closing time of 23.30h (bouldering until 22.30h). Same goes for Monday 29 May, Whit Monday.

Normal opening hours apply for Good Friday (7 April) and Bevrijdingsdag (5 May). However, Koningsdag (27 April) the gym will be closed.

During the qualifications, the db9XL and the DBIYO several photographers took many many many pictures. One posts a part of these pictures on his/her socials during the event already, others take 2 or more days to do so and the next has a fulltime job and will therefore have to wait until next week to sort the photos out. So, long story short, it will take a while before all pictures can be published.

On our socials, mostly Instagram, we share the pictures the photographers send us either as a teaser or via a link to an album on FaceBook. If you cannot wait, please follow the professional photographers who’ve been here all weekend: Lena Drapella (insta), Sytse van Slooten (FaceBook and Insta) and Floor Fortunati (insta). The photos shot by amateur photographers will take a bit longer, we expect those by the end of next week.

In the meantime we will look into a new photo sharing program for this website in order to publish all the pictures here. That will take a while too, but we’ll do our utmost. Priority one was resetting all the boulders on the main wall and we’ve succeeded to do so already.  We hope you are happy with getting your project(s) back on that part of the wall.
