The ReelRock18 contains 4 documentaires, one of them is Climbing Never Die. Star of that documentary Kseniia Zakharova shall be present this evening to give an update on the current situation. And there’s time for a Q&A.

During the weekend of 20/21 September you can book a spot for the Train hard, Climb hard” session with Kseniia or book a personal training. Details will be published asap.

CLIMBING NEVER DIE | Matt Groom, Danyil Boldyrev, Ksenia Zakharova & more
Climbing journalist Matt Groom journeys deep into war-torn Ukraine to discover a community held together by climbing and patriotism, but indelibly changed by war.

Matt Groom…..you might have heard his name before. He’s THE commentator of all the IFSC international boulder-and climbing competitions. Star of his documentary is Kseniia Zakharova, the Ukrainian national youth team climber. Kseniia will be present in the gym for a Q&A and to tell you all about what happened ever since that documentary. She can also be booked for private training sessions during the weekend, more information about this will soon be published.

As 22 September is our 12th anniversary and we like to treat a good cause. This year the Ukrainian climbing gym Vertykal in Charkov will benefit of all entree fees of the RR18 showing. All costs involved in showing the RR18, incl the renting of extra chairs etc will be covered by us. All entrance fees will go to Vertykal 100%. Same deal for the private training sessions with Kseniia.

So, its win win! You get to see 4  great films, can have your selfie with Kseniia and/or a private training session whilst donating to a good cause!

Information about ticket sale will be published asap. A ticket will be €18 in the online pre sale and €20 at the door (if there are any left on the evening). There’s room for 100p and that might seem much, but listening to your enthusiastic and positive responses to the promo board in the gym those tickets might be sold in a blink of an eye. Keep that eye therefore on our socials!

As of Monday 2 September you’ll no longer see paper cups on the bar next to the water cans. Please bring your own unique cup to the gym in order to keep using our watercans with fresh fruit & herbs. Or dig up that good old water bottle and fill it at the tap. Kind reminder: glass water bottles can’t be taken into the gym due to the risk of falling and breaking. Keep them on the bar please.

To remind you taking that cup or bottle back home, we put the candy jar back on the bar. Show us your cup or bottle upon leaving and get a sweet treat.

As of day 1 we had water cans and paper cups, that’s almost 12 years now. This is a huge change we all need adapting to. Then again, it’s better for our planet so that’s worth the change isn’t it?

As everyone seems to be out of town it’s no use to offer yoga classes.
Per September Tinus Koorn will get you back in your flexible shape. By the end of August you can secure your spot in the Bleau Yoga class via Toplogger.

The DB Pubquiz is in English, unless we only have dutch registrations in which case we’ll switch to Dutch.

You can read all there is to know on the special event page where you can register as well. We’re looking forward reading all the nice team names you’ve come up with!

The Pubquiz starts at 17h, which will be the end time for all boulderers. The gym will close an hour earlier to ensure the participants of the DB Pubquiz can fully focus on the questions.

A db9 on a Saturday afternoon instead of the regular Friday night, that’s already different. And adjecent to the db9 there will be a DB Pubquiz, right after a brief brake for showering/changing clothes. Our experienced Pubquiz-team is in the midst of the preparations. Surely there will be boulder-related questions, but all regular topics such as history, sports, culture, music etc. as well.

You get to choose: just join the db9 or just join the DB Pubquiz or join both! Teams will have to sign up on beforehand in order for us to prepare the plate service (oh yes!) for each team, taking food allergies into account as well. Depending on the applications we’ll decide if the DB Pubquiz will be in English or in Dutch.

All details will be revealed soon. You better start forming your team as this is an event you don’t want to miss!

On Whit Monday the gym opens at 9h and you can boulder until 18h. You can still enjoy your beer afterwards.
