The Dutch National youth championships bouldering kicks of with Jeugd Boulder 1 on Saturday 17 January in Graviton, Sittard. Delfts Bleau will host the second competition, Jeugd Boulder 2, on Saturday 7 February 2015.

The Dutch national championship bouldering for adults kicks off on Saturday 24 January in Boulderhal Sterk, Utrecht. Delfts Bleau will host the final of the competition: the Dutch National Championships Boulderen 2015 on Saturday 23 May. Pencil the date in your agenda, your clapping and cheering is highly valued!

We owe you the results of the birthday party edition of the db9. This edition of the db9 was another succesful one. Michiel, Remmelt and Bart had once again delivered a nice set of boulders with a lot of wooden volumes borrowed from the NKBV. DJ I.VO.D and guest DJ dub574 took care of the beats. This Thursday, 30 October we have the next climbing with DJ’s. This time our own DJ I.VO.D is joined by guest DJ DJ Pofzak and we start at 19.00h. The usual consult hour of Medicort starts also at 19.00h, as it does every Thursday.

With the slackline back in da house, it is definitely time for a new series of slackline courses. Two courses will be given: beginners and advanced. Both courses have 4 lessons of 1,5 hours on Friday evening commencing this Friday, 31 October. As each course can host 6 people per course you better be quick to ensure your spot. Isn’t it amazing how time flies? we’ll be celebrating our second anniversary during the weekend of 19-20-21 September.

The weekend kicks off with the 5th edition of our local competition db9. As Always there will be 14 brand new boulders, from 5 to 7b+, for which you have 9 attempts max. per boulder. DJ I.VO.D will take care of the beats and after the competition we  have extra beer offers. Joining the db9 is free, you just pay the regular entrance fee.

On Saturday we have some nice offers for you: Jonas Konijnenberg (Slacktivity) opens our new slackline area. Jonas will give a demo at 13h and 15h, followed by a free workshop which can be attended by 8 persons per workshop.  Make sure you inform the bar personnel you like to attend to avoid disappointment.

You can also join a workshop by Mathieu Ceron of Medicort. Mathieu is one of the trainers of the Dutch Climbing Team.  Do you want to start bouldering more often or do you want to start training to improve your climbing? Mathieu will get you started. There’s a max of 15 persons per workshops, so don’t enter too late (registration at the bar).

The 3rd edition of the DB9 competition took place on Friday 16 May. Once again it was a nice evening with challenging boulders, thanks to the volumes borrowed from the Klimmuur. DJ I.VO.D, together with DJ JFM, took care of the music. With over 70 contestors we may call this event successfull. It was a first acquaintance with a competition for quite some boulderers, reason for them not to hand in the score card due to only topping 1 boulder. Next time, please do hand in your card as you might not have done so bad as you thought plus it’s the best way to find out who to watch next time in order to learn how to top that boulder as well. Don van Laere won the men comp, Tiba Vroom won the ladies comp. Both Don and Tiba are part of the RTC region Zuid-West and train with  our head route setter Michiel Nieuwenhuijzen. This is the full list of results:

Scores db9 16 mei 2014

After the Dutch Championships Bouldering we’ll set a date for September for the last DB9 in this series.

Delfts Bleau is closed on Thursday 29 May, Ascension Day, and Monday 9 June, Whit Monday. This is also the case on Friday 13 June due to the routesetting and preparations for the Dutch Championships Bouldering.

Speaking of…the Lotto Dutch Championships! Saturday 14 June is the date for the Dutch top boulderers to battle for the National title. All information – available in Dutch only – is to be found on the special website http://www.nkboulder.nl. Booking your ticket in advance means having a chance on winning nice prices in our lottery.

All boulders in the competition wall will be taken out on Tuesday 10 June to make room for the competition boulders. To prevent sneak previews of the competition boulders the wall will be covered up with curtains. As there are several odd jobs to be done we’re looking for handymens willing to give a helping hand on working days between 2 and 14 June. The second edition of the db9 was as succesful as the first edition, this time with 59 returned score cards. And a nice crowd it was! Michiel, Remmelt, Bart and Tim had once again delivered a nice set of boulders with wooden volumes borrowed from Klimmuur and two volumes sponsored by Core Climbing. DJ Fan-t-c and DJ /dev/null took care of the beats.

As the previous winners both are recovering from injuries we knew this db9 would know two new winners. Joppe Hauenstein and Vera Zeilstra scooped the first spot.

The next edition is on Friday 16 May, so put the date in your agenda! The next match is Jeugd Boulder 2, on Saturday 22 maart. We’re only open for participants and audience, you cannot boulder that day.

Scores db9 21 februari 2014

February is a very busy month for competitions, with the skin barely healed from Dust, the second edition of our own local free competition db9 is aproaching rapidly. Friday 21 February is the next edition, more info about the format, the time schedule and a form to subscribe is here. If you really want to compete in everything there is, this coming weekend (14 & 15 Feb) there’s I Love Problems in de Klimmuur in Rotterdam and on the first of March in Klimmuur de Uithof there is 100% Boulderen.

Last weekend in Bouderhal Sterk the first round of the National Youth Competition took place, with two first, a forth and a fith place for RTC Zuid-West, who are training with us on Saturdays. The complete results can be found here. The next round of the National Youth Competition is on March 22nd in Bouldercentrum Delfts Bleau.

And last but not least: if you happened to forget to write the date for the National Championship Boulder in you agende: It’s on 14 June in Boudercentrum Delfts Bleau.

The first edition of the db9 was very succesful, a lot of people, nice boulders, good music and good fun. The first edition is won by Melle Vroom. Melle earned 159 out of  the 168 points to be earned. A well deserved victory, well done Melle! You can check the total scores below.

Scores db9 29 november 2013

Klimmuur Den Haag and Klimmuur Rotterdam have generously lent us a couple of modules which we used for the DB9 competition boulders. Thanks guys!

The calendar of the national competetion will be published by the NKBV any day now. We shall add the planning of the DB9 competition and publish the calendar on this site. The DB9 is organised 4 times per year and the next competitions will be scheduled for February, May and Augstus/September. We’re going to have a nice competition year!

In a fortnight it’s Christmas. We’re closed on 24, 25 and 26 December as well as on 31 December and the first of January.

Last but not least: we’re hiring again! As one of the requirements is being fluent in Dutch, we haven’t made the vacancies text available in English, the dutch text can be found here. We trust you to understand this.

The kids lessons are in dutch, therefore there’s no translated page.
